If you are interested in transputers and/or occam, you may be interested in
"The Open Channel" page (112) of October's IEEE Computer.

This starts off by saying that parallel programming is difficult, and
then lists a load of reasons why the designers of parallel languages make
it so. The only languages actually mentioned are Fortran and occam.

Would anyone like to post a defence of occam with respect to the article?

Or to say why occam3 fixes all the criticisms?

They should not be left unanswered --- or unfixed.
