These are no more: the occam mailing list was wound up many years ago (because
the existence of a transputer list confused people, because almost without
exception people on the occam list were also on the other, and things tended
to get posted to both for no good reason, all those good excuses); and the
transputer address in Oxford was only ever a mechanism for reducing traffic
across the Atlantic (involving a single copy of the Cornell transuter list
being expanded over here) and relied on the co-operation of people at Cornell.
It has proved impossible to keep this working as things changed Over There,
and I gave up the struggle when they moved to using an automated listserv
mechanism for their distribution. (Besides which, most of the traffic was
in comp.sys.transputer a long time ago.)

Subject to correction by someone involved and who knows better, the details
of the Cornell-hosted transputer list are as follows:

The transputer mailing list, <transputer@TC.Cornell.EDU>, is being
replaced by a listserv, <transputer-l@Cornell.EDU>. This will be the
last message sent to <transputer@TC.Cornell.EDU> before it becomes
nothing else except a pointer to <transputer-l@Cornell.EDU> (the
   present definition of <transputer@TC.Cornell.EDU> includes
   <transputer-l@Cornell.EDU> as a member).

If you want to continue receiving transputer mailings, you should
subscribe to the listserv, if you haven't already done so. Here are
   the instructions for that:

                   Joining the Transputer Mailing List

To subscribe to transputer-l, send the following command via
   electronic mail to listserv@cornell.edu:

   subscribe transputer-l firstname lastname

Where firstname is your first name and lastname is your last name.

Since people often get confused by listserv, I feel obliged to emphasise
the bit that tells you to send subscription messages to the address that
does /not/ have transputer in it anywhere.

And finally, and finally, uk.ac.oxford.prg addresses are superceded by
comlab.ox.ac.uk, and none of the above mechanisms was anything to do with
the OUG or with WoTUG. g
