Well, here's the horses breath itself (not speaking for myself etc.): we've got a PPC601 with T805 from Parsytec for some time now. Actually, we received a board with their TIP high speed bus interface last week. At first glance it all seems to work reasonably fine (but for some stupid jumper/flag/whatever which prohibits us to access the memory, but okay, who would want to do that) 
I haven't had hands on the boards myself yet (actually, that's the only thing I did do), but according to my colleague, the port of T805 C code to PPC C code and squashing everything through the compiler didn't give him any serious trouble.
