Isn't FreeBSD a BSD for 386/486-type computers?  Anyway, to port
NetBSD/FreeBSD/Linux/etc. one should have a working gcc or any other
freely available C-compiler, otherwise one would have a Un*x without
C-compiler (not very useful) or one would have to pay for compilers
from 3L and others.  And I doubt that they will port their compilers
to *BSD.

So: Get gcc running and things should be quite easy :-)
