 Inmos have actually claimed that for the IMS T800, the data rate over the link
 is about 1.8Mbytes per second IN ONE DIRECTION, and 2.4Mbytes per second when
 the link carries data in both directions. 
  
 Note : this does not apply to the IMS T414 as the new protocol used in the IMS 
 T8 for acknowledgement was not implemented there.
