Earlier this year, the director of the National Science Foundation
convened a Task Force to make recommendations on the Future of the NSF
Supercomputer Centers Program. The Task Force has completed its
assignment, and its final report has been presented to the National
Science Board. Since the NSF centers support research in such a variety of
disciplines, it is thought that some of you may be interested in the
results.
The report and supporting documentation are available at URL:

http://powerkap.cise.nsf.gov/W/TF_Report.html

Included at this site are pointers to other studies on the NSF
supercomputer centers, and to a survey of user requirements. Summaries and
complete responses of the survey are available by anonymous ftp.
