Comp.sys.alliant exists, but the company is gone.  You can talk to
people in that group.  Started as an interesting machine, but the
first time I used an FX/8 I knew they were in trouble.  Interesting
attempt. 

Elxsi is long gone.  Our Dryden facility got a four processor one.
Another well intended machine.  A co-worker's husband worked there,
too. 

Ardent (a very nice, very impressive machine for the time and cost).
They merged with Stellar, became Stardent, got brought up by Kubota
Pacific Computer which still barely hangs on, I know someone who has
one at home.  But it's not kpc.com anymore.  I'll ask Will.
