Bob,
I am an account consultant with AT&T GIS and would be more than happy to
answer your questions about our MPP/SMP solutions. Obviously, I am on the
vendor side (please no flames), but I will do my best to put you in touch
with information without any bias (I am not a salesperson).

I actually started at Teradata as an SE so I have some background in this
area. The WorldMark release combines in a single product offering, SMP
(shared everything), SMP Clustering (shared disk) and MPP (shared
nothing). MPP nodes, are simply SMP nodes connected by a high-speed
interconnect (BYNET). The WorldMark system uses the Intel Pentium
processor (133 mghz) in dyadic and quad board configurations. The system
is PentiumPro (P7) ready when it is available.

Let me know where your interests lie and I can answer more detailed
questions. AT&T GIS supports a web site at www.attgis.com.

Walt
