As part of my PhD research I need to use a software DSM system. The
system should run on a network of Unix workstations (SUN 4, SGI and IBM
RS6000), and it should support C and/or Fortran. Two systems that I am
currently considering are TreadMarks from Rice University and Quarks
from the University of Utah.

I would like to hear from people using these or any other similar
systems. I am mainly interested in ease of programming, portability and
compatibility with other software (eg, PVM).

I will post a summary of all the responses I get. Thank you.

Diego.
