from both undergraduate and graduate students with appropriate backgrounds
who are interested in applying highly parallel computer methods to advanced
research problems at NIH. The successful candidate will work under the
direction of a project leader in carrying out the software implementation
of these methods using modern software engineering principles. The range
of applications includes but is not limited to: biological sequence analysis,
genetic linakge analysis, X-ray crystallography, protein folding prediction,
molecular dynamics, electron microscopy, medical imaging, radiation oncology,
scientific visualization and statistical analysis.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must be enrolled either full-time or
part-time in a degree seeking course of study (i.e., bachelor's, master's
or doctoral degree) in a related field of study such as electrical
engineering,
computer engineering, computer science or applied mathematics.

Citizenship: Applicants may be non-citizens provided that the student
is lawfully admitted to the United States as a permanent resident or
otherwise authorized to be employed. All students in the Student Career
Experience Program must be U.S. citizens at the time they are
