THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS OF THE PERMIAN BASIN invites applications for an
appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science.  The
position begins September 1, 1995.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. in
computer science (or a closely related field) and be able to contribute to
both the teaching and research missions of the department.  Primary
teaching responsibilities will be in computer organization,
parallel/distributed systems, and introductory C programming.  Computing
facilities include several VAX systems and access to a Cray T916 via
remote login to the UT Austin Computation Center.  The State of Texas
requires that all faculty in higher education be proficient in both
written and spoken English.  Candidates whose first language is not
English will be expected to provide evidence of such proficiency.
