			CALL FOR REGISTRATION

=========================================================================

The purpose of CONCUR '95 is to bring together researchers,
developers, and students in order to advance the science of
concurrency theory and promote its application. Since the increasing
demand on the functionality and reliability of concurrent systems
continue to challenge our intellectual and scientific abilities, we
are witnessing continuing growth of interest in the conference. The
scope of CONCUR '95 covers all areas of semantics, logics and
verification techniques for concurrent systems. Specific topics
include decidability, linear-time logics, model checking, mobile
processes, probabilistic automata, process algebra, process theory,
real-time systems, refinement, testing semantics and true concurrency.

Support for CONCUR '95 has generously been provided by IRCS (Institute
for Research in Cognitive Science) and SEAS (School of Engineering and
Applied Science) of the University of Pennsylvania, and AT&T.

Software Demonstrations
=======================
The program will allow space and time for demonstrations of software
related to the design and verification of concurrent systems. Please
contact Hong-Liang Xie (hxie@saul.cis.upenn.edu) if you are interested
in demonstrating software at CONCUR '95.

Location
========
The conference will be held at The Penn Tower Hotel, situated on the
University of Pennsylvania Campus. The Penn Tower Hotel is located
minutes from Center City Philadelphia and is next door to the
University Museum, one of the foremost museums of anthropology and
archaeology in the world. From the Birthplace of Liberty to the
nation's fifth largest metropolitan area, Philadelphia contains many
sights including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross
House, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Franklin Institute.

Daytime temperatures during the last week of August are typically in
the 90's.

Transportation
==============

By Car
------
Please allow ample driving time.

If you are driving to the University from the Northeast, take the New
Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 3. Bear right out of the toll following
signs to Philadelphia and the Walt Whitman Bridge. After crossing the
bridge you will be on I-76 West, the Schuylkill Expressway. Follow
I-76 West to exit 40--South Street. Turn left onto South Street to
enter the campus.

>From the West, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to exit 24, the Valley
Forge interchange. Take I-76, the Schuylkill Expressway, East
approximately 17 miles to exit 40 which is South Street. Turn right
onto South Street to enter the campus.

>From the North, take I-95 South to the Center City Philadelphia exit.
Follow signs to I-676 West, the Vine Street Expressway. Take I-676 West
until I-76 East. Follow I-76 East until exit 40--South Street. Turn
right onto South Street to enter the campus

>From the South, take I-95 North to the I-291/I-76 Philadelphia Exit.
As you cross the Platt Bridge follow signs to I-76 West, the
the Schuylkill Expressway. At the light, take a left continuing to
follow the signs to I-76 West. Take I-76 West 3 miles to exit 40--
South Street. Turn left onto South Street to enter the campus.

By Plane
--------
>From the Philadelphia International Airport there are many forms of
transportation available to the Penn campus.

A train leaves the airport every half hour. You should exit the train
at the 30th Street Amtrak Station stop. The fare is $5.00 and takes 25
minutes. The 30th Street Station is about a 15-minute walk or about a
$5.00 cab ride to campus.

A metered cab ride from the airport generally costs about $20.00
including tip and takes about 20 minutes.

A limousine leaves the airport baggage claim area every 30 minutes for
the Penn Tower Hotel which is adjacent to the Penn campus. The ride
costs $8.00 and takes about 20 minutes.

If you are driving from the airport, follow signs to I-76 West, the
Schuylkill Expressway. Take I-76 West to exit 40 which is South Street.
Turn left onto South Street to enter campus.

By Train or Bus
---------------
You can also reach the University by Amtrak train or by bus. The Amtrak
Train Station near campus is located at 30th and Market Streets. The
30th Street Station is a 15-minute walk or about a $5.00 cab ride to
campus.

The bus station is located at 10th and Filbert Streets behind the
Gallery Shopping Mall. To get to the campus by public transportation,
there is a SEPTA Subway Station located inside the shopping mall.
Take the Market-Frankford Line Westbound to 34th and Market Streets.
The campus is two blocks south of Market Street at 34th and Walnut
Streets. The SEPTA fare is $1.60. Otherwise, a cab can be taken from
the bus station to campus.

Social Events
=============
After the sessions on Monday, a reception will be held at the Penn
Tower Hotel. After the morning sessions on Tuesday, a guided tour
of the historic area of Philadelphia will take place. The conference
Banquet will take place on Wednesday evening.

For accompanying persons, extra tickets for the excursion and/or conference
banquet can be ordered using the registration form.
