Coordinator for the IBM/RS6000/AIX Cluster
University Class #9354


This position will be responsible for coordination of the operation of the
IBM/RS6000/AIX Cluster computing research environment at the University of
Minnesota.  Duties involved:  25% documentation and training, 25% strategic
planning, evaluation and maintenance, and system administration, and 50%
direct user support for parallel programming and cluster utilization.  

Essential Qualifications:  College graduate with a Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science or a field utilizing scientific computation with an
emphasis on parallel computing and at least three years of experience
performing computer system and user support in a high-performance computing
environment using Unix. 

Selection Criteria to include:  Parallel programming experience in C and
FORTRAN.  Preferred experience installing and maintaining the IBM/AIX
operating system and message-passing libraries including PVM and MPI.  

Starting salary range:  $40,000-$51,000/annual plus excellent benefits.
