UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON
Department of Physics and Astronomy
EPSRC CASE studentship
High Performance Computing in Molecular Physics

An EPSRC CASE quota studentship is available to work with
Prof. Jonathan Tennyson and Dr. Cliff Noble (Daresbury Laboratory)
on the use of the new massively parallel Cray-T3D supercomputer
to solve problems in molecular physics.
The work will involve adapting existing codes to run under a
parallel architecture and then applying them to `grand challenge'
problems in molecular physics

It is planned that the student will spend the first year at
Daresbury (Cheshire) working on the codes and the subsequent
2 years at UCL working on applications. The studentship will be
at London rates with the usual CASE supplement. It may be possible
to employ the prospective student during the summer at UCL prior to
formally starting in October.

Applicants, who must be nationals of the European Union,
should have, or be about to receive, a good degree in
Physics, Chemistry or a related subject.

Further information and application forms can be obtained from
