THE MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

Department of Computing

Post of Network Administrator

Applications are invited for the post of Network Administrator in the
Department of Computing. The primary function is to deliver an
efficient networking system for students and staff and to maintain
and develop it. Candidates should have strong experience with
networks and skills in computer programming.

Applicants should have experience of administration of a Novell
network, with some background in wide area networking and preferably
some practical knowledge of TCP/IP and electronic mail. The ability
to solve problems quickly is particularly important. They should also
have broad experience in the use and operation of computers,
particularly with microcomputers and minicomputers or workstations.
Knowledge of one or more of the standard high level computer
languages such as Pascal, Prolog, Cobol, Modula II, etc. is strongly
desirable.

The formal title of the post is Senior Technician (Designated
Technical Advisor), the reference number of the post is JW/158, and
the pay scale is UKP 14,664 to UKP 15,666.

The simplest method of application is by email (see next paragraph).

and ask for further particulars and an application form that you can
return to be sent to you. ALL OF THESE METHODS ARE EQUALLY ACCEPTABLE.

processor), WordPerfect, or in ASCII; or as postscript. Word
processor files can be sent using MIME or UUENCODE, or any of them
encoded using PGP -- my public key is:
