At my university, I give a course in computer architecture and
organization. Included are multiprocessors (bus-based,
supercomputers, hypercubes, interconnection structures), and some
simple stuff on parallel algorithms for such machines.

As we don't have many such real machines around and we would like to
give some simple programming exercises (implementation of simple
parallel algorithms on such machines), I am looking for good
simulators, - preferably running on UNIX workstations or on MS-DOS
machines -, of multiprocessors, supercomputers, hypercubes, etc., and
also of dataflow machines.

Any pointers to such simulators are welcome.

In addition, I would like to hear about any experiences with such
courses (i.e., a combination of architecture and algorithms, with
programming exercises).

Thanks in advance.
