 Call for Participation

The recent trend towards mobility raises new perspectives and
research issues for distributed computing, in particular distributed
 object management.

Some of the new issues concern, the management of mutating
communication channels for mobile object location identification,
the specification of protocols allowing operations on a distributed
mobile state and the creation and reconciliation of replicas to
 support of disconnected operation.

This workshop intends to bring together people interested in
mobility and replication issues from an object-oriented point of
view, i.e., where the units considered for migration and replication
 are objects.

Mobility/replication related topics of interest include,
 but are not limited to:

  - Mobile (active) objects
  - Migration for load distribution
  - Migration for availability
  - Wire(-less) migration protocols
  - Replication for availability
  - Replication for efficiency
  - Location and naming
  - Disconnected operation
  - Coordination protocols
  - Object grouping

Interested participants should submit a position paper (at most 4 pages)
to the main contact person. Email submissions are required (Postscript
text). All submitted papers will be made available to everybody.

Authors submitting position papers containing material/ideas good
for presentations to start discussions will be selected for
 short presentations.

 Submission Details

The result of the evaluation of papers received by May 19 may be
 1) accepted for presentation, 2) accepted without presentation,
or 3) rejected. Notification will be sent out by email at the latest
 by May 26.

Papers received after May 19 will also be evaluated but may only be
accepted without presentation and depending on available room space.

Participants selected for presentations will be encouraged to
bring copies of one full paper each at the workshop.
Depending on general quality of papers, a postceedings including
the best papers will be considered.
