Gil Lerman and I have written a book surveying parallel processors
that have been built over the past 30 years. The criteria for
inclusion in the survey was that the machine was actually build and
sufficient information about the machine was published in the open
literature to enable us to classify it; if the machine was not
interesting enough to warrent a research article then it probably did
not make it into our survey.

We classified machines according to eight criteria and then tried to
explain corrolations. The second half of the book is just a short
review of each machine.
