Call for Participation

Parallel Tools Consortium
2nd Annual Meeting
Monday, May 22 - Wednesday, May 24, 1995
NASA Ames Research Center
Moffett Field, California

Users, developers, and vendors of tools for parallel computers
are invited to participate in the Parallel Tools (Ptools)
Consortium's second annual meeting. The consortium establishes
working groups to develop new tools that will meet specific user
needs and offers a forum where members can exchange ideas and
information. Membership in the Ptools Consortium is open to
anyone interested in parallel programming tools.

Solicitation of Discussion Topics and Presentations

This year's annual meeting will feature invited speakers,
presentations on current and completed Ptools projects,
working groups and panels for the discussion of parallel
tools topics, and opportunities for tool developers to
present their work. We need your suggestions for discussion
sessions, posters, and demonstrations.

Discussion topics

We are planning several discussion sessions on topics of
interest to Ptools members. Examples of topics these
sessions could address include: Problems in application
I/O, visualization of performance data, and the role of
"meta-debuggers."

Posters

Tool developers are invited to submit proposals for
poster presentations. The poster session will be held
as part of the meeting's general reception and will
not conflict with other events during the meeting, so
presenters can be sure their work will get maximum
exposure. If you have an idea for a new Ptools
project and would like to find collaborators, this
will be the place to present your ideas.

Demonstrations

We are tentatively planning to have a demo room available
where tool developers can show off their work. The demo room
will contain a number of X terminals with Internet connections.
Presenters can use these machines to telnet to their home sites
and run their demonstrations remotely. Although arrangements
for a demo room are still pending, please let us know if you
are interested.

Send your ideas for discussion topics and presentations
by electronic mail to: John May (johnmay@llnl.gov). Deadline
for submission is March 1, 1995. We will select posters and
topics by April 1.

We will send out information on registration and accommodations
in the coming weeks.
