How will the death of the POWER2 chip affect the IBM SP2.
This was the chip that the SP2 was based on.

Will (is) the SP2 upgradable or chip-swapable with
whatever is the next generation?  And even this is not a
reasonable option - there would be more power on those
swapped chips (sitting in a desk drawer) than many 
have available.

And these mfg's wonder why the commercial market is happy
with just a faster workstation...  "scalability with a
legacy" - just pass that old machine down the hall!

Long live distributed processing!
