                      Announcement for Adsmith 1.8
                      ============================

Adsmith is an object-based DSM, which is built completely on top of PVM
using C++. In this version, the system performance is much improved from
that of version 1.0, and several new features are designed to help the
programmers or compilers to further improve the performance.

Features of Adsmith now include simple process and host identification,
per-object basis property setting, controls on data distribution, pointer
control, load/store-style memory access, release consistency memory model,
prefetch, pipeline write, bulk transfer, atomic accesses, collective accesses,
and multiple writer protocol, etc. For more information, please visit the
Adsmith homepage:

Adsmith can be ported to the machines where PVM exists. The package is
available at the following locations.

	ftp://archi5.ee.ntu.edu.tw/pub/adsmith/adsm1.8.0.tar.gz .

Any comments, questions, suggestions, or bug reports are welcome.
