Hey,

I am trying to get PVM and XPVM to work on an SGI indy(master) and
various BSDI (slave) servers.... I am having a problem first on the SGI
side...

I do not get the password request while using the so=pw option... It
just doesn't echo a request for a password to the terminal, but it does
accept the password.....

In other words...
pvm> add "the host"
hangs here w/ no output... I just assumed it would accept it, and it
does.... I also compiled the xhoster, so that may solve my problem....

But the REAL problem is once it takes the password, I get a long, mabey
1-2 minute pause, before the tcl/tk/X comes back to life....

followed by.... libpvm [t40001]: pvm_host_sync(): No such host

It will still take tasks, but they do not seem to go to completion... I
get some Xpvm readout, but also get this error echoed each time I try to
execute a task... followed by pvmd shutdown on the BSDI (slave) side...

Could it be the BSDI side or is it the SGI side....?

Has anyone had a similar problem...?

Thanks
