First of all thanks to all the support.

We are able to announce Beta2 for WIN32.

The features of the PVM for WIN32 Beta2:

- first real WIN32 version, which means Win95 and WinNT are
fully functional. as a master or slave.

- works like the original pvm !

- It is possible now, to do remote debugging. A process spawned with
the PvmTaskDebug flag can be debugged locally or remotely.

- Convenient startup with rsh !

- Specifiable PVM_TMP directory where people can customize their
location of temporarily files (pvmd.<> pvml.<>)

- distributed with efficient executables. -> smaller amount of memory
  needed.

- independent makefiles !

Software you need:

Beta2, a working(Berkeley specification) rshd for WIN32.

Installing :

You have to get the pvm for win32 beta 2 from :

http://netlib2.cs.utk.edu/pvm3/index.html

choose a directory on your machine and unzip the file.
then you have to set the environment variables:

PVM_ROOT to point to the directory where you installed pvm
PVM_ARCH to WIN32
PVM_TMP where you like to save the temporary pvm files
PVM_RSH to tell pvm where to look for the RSH command

A help file to solve early problems can be found in the Help
directory which comes with the distribution.

Let us know if you have any questions,

sincerely,
for the PVM team,

Markus Fischer
