I, like many others out there, am happily using PVM3 on a cluster of
Linux/Intel boxes and getting great performance. In the past year or so the
Linux SMP code has made great progress and is now quite stable and usable. I
have used the same PVM3 daemon on Linux SMP systems which works ok, but my
questions is, has anyone managed to build a Linux PVM3 which uses shared
memory? I suspect the performance of such code will be better than using
the TCP/IP code. Anyone have any opinions, facts, or figures?
