                             CALL FOR PAPERS

                  Journal of High Performance Computing

                Special Issue on HETEROGENEOUS PROCESSING

Heterogeneous processing (HP) constitutes a key element of high performance
computing. HP addresses compute intensive applications and algorithms that
are composed of fundamentally different subtasks. The major goals of HP are
to investigate and develop techniques and infrastructures for the execution
of such applications. Contributions are invited in the following areas of
heterogeneous processing, which include, but are not limited to:

     *  programming paradigms and environments
     * parallelism detection, characterization and resource allocation
     * partitioning, scheduling and mapping of application tasks
     * tools for code-type profiling, debugging and visualisation
     *  interconnection network requirements
     *  performance evaluation
     *  applications

This special issue, to be published in Nov/Dec 1996, is a follow-up of the
Heterogeneous Processing Minitrack of the 29th Hawaii International
Conference on System Sciences held in January this year. Authors are
requested to send FIVE (5) copies of their manuscript to one of the special
issue editors below by 15th August 1996.

Manuscripts must not have been published previously and must not be under
consideration for publication elsewhere. They must be written in English
and should be limited to 25 pages, double-spacing. The title page should
include the title, author names, and contact addresses. An abstract of not
more than 150 words should also be included. All submitted papers will be
subject to a peer review process. Please write clearly "Special Issue on
Heterogeneous Processing" in rubric on the cover page of the manuscript.
