A closer inspection of the cluster revealed that NO INDIVIDUAL
/tmp or /usr/tmp directories exist on the machines, only one
central /tmp & /usr/tmp for 9 machines !
So whenever a machine wanted to start pvm, it had a look at /tmp
and saw the file of the first machine and bailed out...

Any idea how I could change the name of the files written to /tmp and
/usr/tmp so that they are unique ? (perhaps by concatenating the
hostname to the filename ?)
