                    CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Workshop on Parallel / Distributed Plattforms in industrial Products

This workshop will be part of the programme of the

7th IEEE Symposium on parallel and distributed Processing.

San Antonio, TX, Oct. 25-28 1995

Date of the workshop: to be announced (25-28)

SCOPE, AREAS OF INTEREST:

Plattforms like PVM, ISIS, Horus, ... are becoming much more used in industrial
products and esp. from our own experience I know that people will encounter
problems in using such systems. Building parallel and distributed application
can become a painful experience, especially when nonfunctional requirements
like reliability become an important requirement.

Such a workshop should bring together people with background in really using
parallel or distributed plattforms or intending to build such systems. It will
be very helpfull to add up experiences and discuss potential pitfalls, problems, ...

The workshop covers all experiences from spec, design and implementation support,
training of the team, ... till installation, licencing and much more.

WORKSHOP FORMAT:
The Workshop format allows the formal presentation of the papers. These presentations
are designed to serve as catalysts for discussion.

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS:

Participation is limited to 20 people.

Contributions are welcome as "position statements".

The purpose of position statements is to provide a seed for debate and
discussion. The conference organisers encourage participants to present
suggestions for future directions and concerns about current developments.

mail or fax. The preferred method for submission is electronic mail.
