Please excuse any ignorance...

We are looking to network four IBM Risc-6000's for use as a local
parallel machine and are wondering what might be the best way to go.
Both 'pvm' and 'mpi' have been suggested as likely candidates.
The machines are not identical in performance, so load balancing is
definitely a consideration.

As we understand it, pvm is free but perhaps it involves extra
administrative overhead in order to manage varying types of machines.
Not sure about mpi...

Any suggestions, etc. as to which system (pvm or mpi) might make the best
sense for our application would be extremely appreciated.

Not sure if its necessary, but our use for the parallel machine is with
computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

Thanks in advance,
