On the other hand, I am also new to pvm and have experienced no problems
with it on Solaris machines. I made a virtual machine with 3 Sparc20s
running Solaris2.3, a Sparc2 running SunOS4, and 2 multiprocessor SGIs
running IRIX5.2. The only problem I experienced was a confusion of
machine type on the SGIs. The compiler thought that the machine type
was SGIMP, but the servers thought their machine type was SGI5. The
version I am using is 3.3.4.
