Hello!

On a cluster of many HP-Workstations, I have problems when adding
hosts in the virtual machine. Maybe this is a FAQ, but I am new in
this newsgroup, so maybe someone can help me!

After starting the pvm-console, I can add one host (for example
rznb12) in a pool of HP-Workstations by using the ADD command. No
problem. Then I try to add another host (maybe rznb11) in this pool,
and I get the error message: Duplicate host. The same happens when
changing the order of the hosts. After deleting rznb12 and adding
rznb11, I am not able to add rznb12 again: Duplicate host.

Maybe the problem is the same /tmp directory, which all hosts in this
pool use. So what can I do?

After all, I tried to start pvm by using a hostfile, in which about
100 HP-Workstation are listed. But I only get 7 Workstations, one of
each pool.

I am using PVM Version 3.3.7. A few weeks ago, I was using PVM
Version 3.3.3 and there, I was able to add more than one host of the
same pool in the virtual machine. But PVM 3.3.3 had problems in
handling a big virtual machine of more than 100 hosts. This should be
fixed in 3.3.7, but I am not able to check this out.

I hope anyone can help me solving this problem. It would be very nice!!

Greetings,

- Marc
