Hi,
	While running my PVM application for large data sets, the
slave tasks and the local daemons die. In the pvm log file, I have
entries like;

[t80040000] [t180001] libpvm [t180001]: fr_new() can't get memory
[t80040000] [t200001] libpvm [t200001]:
[t80040000] [t180001] libpvm [t180001]:
[t80040000] [t200001] pvm_pkdouble(): Malloc failed

followed by

hd_dump() ref 1 t240000 n "mataf" a "" ar "PMAX"
[t80040000]            lo "" so "" dx "/home/research/cmsnadam/pvm3/lib/pvmd" ep
 "/home/research/cmsnadam/pvm3/bin/PMAX" bx "" wd "" sp 1000

The second part is the report of failure for the local daemon (I
think). The first part is concerned with memory usage. For large
sets of data, my program passes large messages. Could it be that
insufficent memory is available to deal with this? I am somewhat
bemused by this, so any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks.

Niall.
