At UEA we are currently running PVM 3.3.4 on a cluster of DEC Alphas
which is made available to a number of users and has been working fine
for several months. Now, one (and only one) user can no longer start
up additional pvmds from either the console or a master program. The
error message in their /tmp/pvml file is:

	startack() host cpcw14 expected version

(cpcw14 being the machine that they are trying to add)

We have been through the usual process of checking for stray PVM daemons
and /tmp/pvmd files, but can find nothing obviously wrong. Can anyone
shed any light on the problem ?

Many thanks,

Matt Beare.
