Hello,

PVM is a great concept and, according to my (modest :) experimentation with
it, it also works pretty well. But I'd be interested to know what sort of
things you people actually use it for? What sort of applications have you made
based on PVM? Are everyone doing just "heavy-duty" scientific calculations or
are there also "real life" applications, in businesses for example? Could you
perhaps (PLEEEEEAASE! :) send me a small E-mail briefly outlining your
PVM-project(s)? I would really appreciate it.

To (hopefully :) get the ball rolling, I can tell you that I've programmed a
simple Mandelbrot-fractal generator using a "master-slave model" (or whatever
it's called), where the slaves do the actual fractal calculations in parallel
through PVM and the master collects the results and shows them to the user.
Simple simple simple..., but it works very nicely indeed. My purpose of doing
this whole project is to "evaluate the feasibility of PVM for various uses"
and write a report about it for my school. So I'd be really interested to hear
what YOU have done with PVM, and how it has worked out. Thank you in advance.

Yours,

-MiS-
