Hi,
Ok this may seem like a silly question, but :
For a machine to have communications with a pvm virtual machine, does it REALLY
need the pvmd running?
E.g. I am currently trying to compile a version of the pvmlib for the Macintosh
series of computers, which hopefully will enable me to communicate with a pvm
virtual machine....Do I need pvmd too?

Also, if the compilation gets *too* difficult (as it may be approaching!),
would it be slightly more feasible to emulate the comms protocols so that
although the Mac wasn't actually part of the machine, it could still pass
pvm messages/data to the actual machine?
(If this was to be the case, does the pvm3 manual detail the protocol
sufficiently?)

Any help on any of this would be helpful, since I am very quickly
running towards a dead end! - You know how that is! :-)

			Thanks, Al.
