Hi all -
I posted a message that, after re-reading it, I realized probably
didn't make all that much sense. So, therefore, I am going to post it
again, in order to see if I can clear up the confusion that I so
eloquently presented to you all.
Here's the scenario: I have a full version of the most recent PVM
set up on an ULTRIX system in usr/users/pvm/pvm3. I can spawn as many
tasks as I want to, and they''ll do what they're told, so that's fine.
There are also several DEC 3100 workstations on the network which I can
log into separately, and spawn processes equally as well there. They (the
DEC stations) each (obviously?) have their own I.P. addresses, so I can
telnet to them, and specify them as hosts through the Pvm_Console's ADD
command, but I unfortunately get a Can't Start PVMD error.
I know that when I do an rsh <remote_host> ls, I get a permission
denied error, and that is probably the problem, but is there an easy way
to fix it, or must I get root access to the machine itself?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I hope this has
been explained clearly.
If not, please let me know.

      Thanx -

         Dave Minker
