I have in front of me Adam Beguelin's paper "Recent Enhancements to PVM"
dated June 17, 1994, where , among other things, two new PVM routines pvm_psend
and pvm_precv are mentioned; these combine the initialize, pack, and send
steps into a single call.
I'm also reading a paper "The NAS Parallel Benchmarks on Virtual Parallel
Machines" by S. White, A. Alund, V.S. Sunderam from Emory U. and see that they
introduced routines pvm_fsend and pvm_frecv that had a similar function.
Were these then renamed to pvm_psend and pvm_precv and then made part of PVM
or is there a difference betwen the 2 sets? THANKS.
