WORKSHOP ON HIGH-SPEED NETWORK COMPUTING (HiNet '95)
	   ____________________________________________________

High-speed internetworking is viewed by the information processing and
telecommunications communities as the next major infrastructure industry.
High-speed networks (such as Sonet/ATM and high-speed LANs) can be used for
interconnecting a large number of (possibly distant) autonomous computers
that operate in a distributed computing environment. The main theme of this
workshop centers on the impact of the emerging technology of high-speed
networks in the area of high performance parallel and distributed computing.
Contributions to HiNet '95 should explore the capabilities, point out the
difficulties, and report on the experience with high-speed networks when
employed in distributed computing environments. Topics of interest include,
but are not limited to, the following:

1) Computing paradigms for high speed networks
2) Programming environments and tools for high-speed network computing
3) Mapping parallel algorithms onto high-speed networks
4) Algorithm design and analysis for high speed networks
5) High-speed network protocols for parallel and distributed processing
6) Performance evaluation and simulation
7) Experimentations and test-beds
8) Architecture and topology of high-speed networks
9) Switching and routing techniques
10) Distributed data-base design and processing on high speed networks
11) Scheduling and load balancing aspects of high-speed network computing
12) Efficient communication interfaces
13) Applications and software tools

To submit a paper, send five copies of your complete manuscript (not to
exceed 20 double spaced pages of text) to one of the Workshop cochairs.
Please include your postal and e-mail addresses as well as fax and phone

This workshop will be organized as a one-day event of the 9th International
Parallel Processing Symposium (IPPS'95) at Fess Parker's Red Lion Resort
in Santa Barbara, located 90 miles north of Los Angeles and a
one-day trip from the wine country and horse ranches of neighboring
Santa Ynez Valley. Details on all IPPS activities are available by
anonymous ftp from replicant.csci.unt.edu. The files are located in
pub/IPPS95.
