I have installed PVM3.3.4 onto an SGI Onyx (SGIMP), a
CM5, and 2 SPARC 670's (SUNOS 4.1.3) and am having a
strange problem. I can start pvm on a machine, but none
of the SunOS machines nor the CM5 can add any other
SUNOS/CM5 machine, getting the error about cannot start
pvm daemon. Yet, any of these machine can add the Onyx!
(But of course the Onyx cannot add any SunOS/CM5 machine).
It's almost like I cannot start a remote dameon the the
SunOS machine, but I can on the SGI. Does anyone know
why this is? The hosts files are set up OK and I
don't know what else to look at. Any ideas will be
greatly appreciated!
thanks -
