  I am new to PVM3 and I am having a problem starting pvmd by hand. My hostfile
looks like:
    * dx=/users/mentat/pvm3/lib/SUN4/pvmd3
    * ep=/users/mentat/pvm3/bin/SUN4
    * wd=/users/mentat/pvm3/bin/SUN4
    agate

and I try to start pvmd with: "pvmd3 hostfile &"

The error messages that I get are:
[pvmd pid12867] readhostfile() hostfile 22: *: can't gethostbyname
[pvmd pid12867] readhostfile() hostfile 23: *: can't gethostbyname
[pvmd pid12867] readhostfile() hostfile 24: *: can't gethostbyname
[pvmd pid12867] readhostfile() hostfile: 3 errors in hostfile
[t80040000] ready

It seems as though PVM is ready, but the options that I asked it to use were not
set. My library version is 3.0, and I am running on a sun4 workstation, SunOS
Release 4.1.2

  Is there something wrong with the way that my hostfile is set?
