I am having the same type of problem. On a network of Sparc 10s we installed PVM
3.3.3. They are all using Sun OS 4.1.3 and Cshell. When trying to add a new
host the following occurs:

    pvm> add arthur

         0 successful
                                    Host            DTID
                                   arthur      Cann't start pvmd

I worked through all the tests for this error case in the most current users
guide, and none of them showed anything being wrong. Also, there is the exact
same "hostfile" and ".rhosts" file on both machines. Further testing revealed
that when PVM goes to the new host (I assume using "rsh"), it does not execute
the ".cshrc" file on the new host. Does this make any sense?? Shouldn't it
execute the ".cshrc" file? If it does not, then how is it supposed to know what
"PVM_ROOT" is? I have ran into a stone wall on this one, any help will be
greatly appreciated!!! -> Bryan
