Hi all,

I'm having a problem running pvm v3.2.6 and v3.3.3 (ie: I've tried both
versions, and they have the same problem). They compile cleanly (except
for a few warning messages) using the vanilla makefiles provided. I
can start pvm OK, and I've set the PVM_ROOT variable properly (at
least, the rsh test provided in the release notes returns the proper
value). I've also tried using the dx= option for the add command,
but this also doesn't work. Below is a script detailing the problem:

110 (lib) > pvm
3.3.3
t40001
pvm> conf
1 host, 1 data format
                    HOST DTID ARCH SPEED
                epicurus 40000 SUN4SOL2 1000
pvm> add sartre
libpvm [t40001]: pvm_addhosts(): Pvmd system error
pvm> add "sartre dx=/home/epicurus/staff/mattd/pvm3/lib/pvmd"
libpvm [t40001]: pvm_addhosts(): Pvmd system error
pvm> conf
1 host, 1 data format
                    HOST DTID ARCH SPEED
                epicurus 40000 SUN4SOL2 1000
pvm> halt
libpvm [t40001]: mxfer() EOF on pvmd sock
111 (lib) >

We're using automount on a network of Solaris 2.3 workstations, and I
compiled the source using the Sun CC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

matt
