pvmd is giving me a message

New pvmd started ... xpvm connected as tid 40001
lib pvm [t40001]: gs_getgstid() failed to start group server: No such file

Warning: XPVM Group Already Present, inum=14

Example programs spmd and gexample fail whilst hitc, hello, master1 work. I downloaded the source from netlib onto our Sparc based Suns running Sun OS 4.1.3 plus Open Windows version 3. I have set PVM_ROOT and PVM_ARCH (what is PVM_DPATH ?) plus XPVM_ROOT,
TCL_LIBRARY, TK_LIBRARY and both $PVM_ROOT/lib and $PVM_ROOT/bin are on the path.

Does anyone know what is wrong ?

We would like to use PVM in a final year teaching module. Has anyone a good example program showing parallelism in action with PVM that would be suitable ?

Thanks in anticipation

Kevin
