Hi all,

The problem I am having now probably has more to do with system
administration than pvm, but since our system manager does not
know much of Paragon, so I here ask the net for help.

Here is what I got:

/home/yuzhenge/pvm3/lib> pvmd -sz 6
[pvmd pid132825] mpp_init() nx_initve
: Permission denied
[pvmd pid132825] pvmbailout(41)
/home/yuzhenge/pvm3/lib>

The system manager informed me that there was only one partion, .compute,
on the machine, and insisted that I should have no problem. So I did this:

/home/yuzhenge/pvm3/lib> showpart -f .compute
USER GROUP ACCESS SIZE FREE RQ EPL
 root daemon 766 28 28 SPS 5
    +---------+
   0| . . . . |
   4| F F F F |
   8| F F F F |
  12| F F F F |
  16| F F F F |
  20| F F F F |
  24| F F F F |
  28| F F F F |
    +---------+

Is there anything wrong with this setup? Should access be 777 instead of
766? Anyway, I use pvmd -pn .compute -sz 6, but it did not change a thing.
He told me I can use isub, which doesnot even have a man
page. Here is what I got:

/home/yuzhenge/pvm3/lib> isub -sz 6
(node -1, ptype -1) can not create partition: Request overlaps with nodes in use

/home/yuzhenge/pvm3/lib>

what is wrong here? Should there be some special setup for PVM on
Paragon?

Any pointer will be greatly appreciated.
