Hi!

   I saw a post related to this subject before where it was recommended
to look into the .login or .cshrc files. I am using ksh and my .login
and .cshrc files only define PVM_ROOT and the PATH and my .profile file
(which ksh reads to setup the environment) also sets the PVM_ROOT and
PATH variables.

   None of the above files has stdout, I still get "Can't start pvmd"
messages. The pvml.uid has the following information.....

[t80040000] ready  3.3.0   Thu Jun 23 17:39:22 1994
[t80000000] pvmd@academ04: ksh: /lib/pvmd:  not found^J
[t80000000] pl_startup() pvmd@academ04: EOF
[t80040000] startack() host academ04 expected version
