[This is not an attempt to sell a specific product; it is an attempt to
gather inputs for long-term R&D on new technology.]

SYSTRAN Corp., a small R&D company in Dayton, Ohio that specializes in
replicated shared-memory network interfaces, is currently conducting R&D
into the MERLIN (MEmory Routed, Logical Interconnection Network) network
concept initially conceived at Sandia National Laboratory, N.M. [1] We
believe the MERLIN global virtual memory paradigm can provide unique
approaches to shared-memory, clustered computing in either heterogeneous
or homogeneous environments. Our researchers solicit your comments
and interest in this subject area. We are particularly interested in
your experiences/comments with any or all of the following:

(i)	workstation clusters,
(ii)	hardware interconnection schemes,
(iii)	systems software issues,
(iv)	workstation nodes of choice (i.e. Sun, SGI, etc.), and
(v)	application domains

Please send your comments to: Barrie Timpe, btimpe@systran.com

Thank you for your assistance and interest in this area.
