I had this same problem, but didn't mind it so much, because PVM3.3
somehow fixed the problems I had with puking after ~34000 messages.
Here is what you need to do:

	* dx=/usr/local/pvm3/lib/pvmd
	blackfoot-fddi ep=/scratch/usitbu/pvm3/bin/RS6K
	shawnee-fddi ep=/scratch/usitbu/pvm3/bin/RS6K
	navajo-fddi ep=/scratch/usitbu/pvm3/bin/RS6K

Note the * dx business.  This gets around having to get PVM_ROOT
set on remote machines automatically.
