We have two networks each served by a fileserver
[network1 is MTL and network2 is EDC].

MTL runs SunOS 4.1.1 and EDC runs SunOS 4.1.3.

When I installed pvm2.4, and ran in on the MTL network
I just included the EDC machine name (and lo=login_name, since
my login names on the two networks differ) and it would include
it, no bother.

Now with pvm3.2.6, after starting pvm on MTL, when I try and include
a machine [say, MACHINE1] from the EDC network it just wont
do it.

pvm> add MACHINE1
0 successful
                    HOST DTID
                 MACHINE1 Can't start pvmd
pvm>

I have tried the lo=login_name option the dx=/PATHNAME option
but nothing works.

Why is this a problem with 3.2.6 (which was so easy with 2.4)?
Has anyone else had similar problems. (aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhh!!).

Of course I maybe missing something trivial, am I ?

Any help offered with be gratefully accepted.

Cheers
