             1997 Transputer Research And Applications Conference

                               Sponsored by:

                    North American Transputer Users Group
                           Las Vegas, Nevada
                         June 30 - July 2, 1997

The 1997 Transputer Research and Applications Conference (9th in
the series) will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA), as part of
the 1997 Parallel and Distributed Processing and Technologies
Conference (PDPTA '97) from June 30th through July 2nd, 1997.
(PDPTA '97 information may be found at
http://www.cps.udayton.edu/~pan/pdpta.)

The 1996 combined PDPTA-NATUG conference turned out to be a great
success, and provided many opportunities for transputer and
non-transputer people to interact. We expect the 1997 version,
with the added attraction of the International Conference on
Imaging Science, Systems, and Technology (CISST'97), to be even
better.

Contributions in the form of papers (presentation and poster)
are being solicited in the areas of hardware, software, methodology,
and applications of transputer and transputer-like systems, such as
multiple TI-320Cxx, SHARC, Intel i860 and DEC Alpha configurations.

Topics of interest include but are by no means limited to the following
aspects of small-scale  parallel computing:

        *       real-time and embedded systems
        * high-performance data acquisition and analysis
	*	parallelism, concurrency, or simultaneity as a
		concept;
	*	parallel algorithms;
	*	parallel microprocessor architectures;
	*	interconnection networks, communications;
	*	operating systems, environments, or user interactive
		interfaces;
	*	implementation of algorithms in multiprocessors;
	*	applications in other areas: aerospace, medical
		technology, computational science, applied physics,
		fluid dynamics, visual computing, signal processing,
		numerical computation

Authors are strongly encouraged to submit papers (not previously
published) on their latest research and application-related projects.
Papers will be reviewed for originality, significance, clarity and
timeliness. All accepted papers will appear in the published Proceedings
to be presented to the delegates at the conference.

Prospective authors are invited to submit three copies of their
extended abstract (4-5 pages, double-spaced) to G. S. Stiles,
Electrical and Computer Engineering, Utah State University,
Logan, Utah, 84322-4120, by February 12, 1997.  E-mail submissions
may be sent to dyke@stiles.ece.usu.edu. The length of accepted papers
will be limited to 10 pages. Papers must not have been
previously published or currently submitted for publication
elsewhere. Please specify a preference for oral presentation or poster.

The first page of the draft paper should include: title of the
paper, abstract, name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address,
telephone number, and Fax number for each author. The first
page should also include the name of the author who will be
presenting the paper (if accepted) and a maximum of 5 keywords.
