We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.2 of
the NAS Parallel Benchmarks (NPB) in MPI/F77/C. This release
includes the Integer Sort (IS) kernel in C, the Embarrassingly
Parallel (EP) kernel in F77, and the Fourier Transform (FT)
kernel in F77+. Like all of the NPB 2.x releases, these
are intended to represent "portable" message passing versions
of the NAS Parallel Benchmarks. These implementations will
not obtain the "optimal" performance of vendor implementations
represented in the NPB 1 results. However, the NPB 2.x
implementations should perform reasonably well on most cache
based architectures.

In addition to the three additional benchmarks, verification
numbers for new larger CLASS C cases are included in these
codes. Also, machines with 64-bit integers may also use a
new implementation of the random number generator.
