I am looking into parallel processing implementations for inexpensive
workstation clusters to do number-crunching, probably Intel running
Linux. The catch is that I want to use a Be to delegate jobs.
Background: BeOS is a multithreaded real-time OS with a great deal of
POSIX compliance. Would it be feasible to port LAM, or some other MPI
implementation to this OS to act as the master of a cluster of
workstations?

If you need more info on my exact plans, please email.

Cheers,

Simon.

PS - BeOS supports BSD sockets.
